Cacik (pronounced “djadjek”) is the twin of the Greek tzatziki or the Iranian mast o khiar. You can garnish your Cacik with dried mint or finely chopped dill. It is a true classic of Turkish cuisine, often present in Mezze, it also accompanies meat dishes or kebab.
Steps
1 Done | Preparation of the CucumberWash and possibly peel the cucumber and grate it into a large bowl. Add salt and let it drain for about 30 minutes. |
2 Done | Add garlicAdd your 300 grams of yogurt to a large bowl. Peel your two cloves of garlic and crush them with salt, mix well with the yogurt until the garlic is incorporated evenly. |
3 Done | Add your grated cucumber and mix well. Add some dried or finely chopped herbs (mint, dill...) and sprinkle with olive oil. |
4 Done | Taste your CacikAnd that's it! Your homemade Turkish Cacik is now ready to be enjoyed! Serve it fresh with a little bread or as a side dish with meat and kebab. Enjoy your meal! |
