Ferni is one of the most popular dessert in Persian cuisine. It is a sweet and smooth dessert that everyone loves, and you will soon too !
Ferni is a sweet rice pudding with rose water, served with cinnamon and crushed pistachios. The recipe of Ferni is extremely simple and easy to make. You just need to mix the ingredients in a pot on low/medium and stir it continually. The secret is to be patient, cook it on low heat and wait till the mixture is boiling and get a little bit dense.
Steps
1 Done | In a pot, bring the milk to a gentle simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. |
2 Done | Add water, flour and sugar and mix it continuously to integrate the sugar and flour into the milk. |
3 Done | Reduce heat to low, add 3 tablespoons of Rose water and keep stiring continuously until your Ferni has thickened a little bit. |
4 Done | Remove the mixture from the heat and place it into individual bowls. |
5 Done | Let the Ferni chill and put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving. |
6 Done | Serve your Ferni with cinnamon and crushed pistachios. You can also add dried rose petals for the decoration. |
