Juice of 6 lemons
Lebanese Hummus (Houmous) is a real institution! Known internationally, this delicious chickpea puree will delight your guests’ taste buds for sure! Let’s discover how to make Hummus!
Soak the chickpeas the day before
The day before preparing your Lebanese Hummus, make sure to soak your chickpeas for about 10 hours in water.
Once your chickpeas are well soaked in water, change the water and put your chickpeas to cook on low heat. They are ready when they are relatively soft.
Preparation of Lebanese Hummus
Set aside a small handful of cooked chickpeas. In a blender, mix the cooked chickpeas, the Tahini and the lemon juice until you obtain a fine purée. Add a little salt and blend for a few more seconds.
Your homemade hummus is ready!
Keep your hummus well chilled so that it becomes firmer. You can also add a few whole chickpeas or pine nuts on top for extra crunch. Serve your hummus with a generous drizzle of olive oil and a nice pita bread for example! Enjoy your meal :)
